William (Bill) Morris Cahn was born on February 10, 1911, in Chicago, Illinois, to Rosalie Stern, age 27, and William Morris Cahn, age 38. In Rye his family lived at 62 Lincoln Av, Purchase, NY.
Bill was a graduate of Phillips Exeter Academy, class of 1929, and also graduated Phi beta Kappa from Princeton University in 1933.
He married Margaret Joan Millhauser of Rye, N. Y. on July 5, 1935, in Purchase, New York. They had three children in 10 years.
Bill served as an officer in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Bill proudly served in the 94th Infantry Division . The 94th ID was called into federal service on September 15, 1942 at Fort Custer, Michigan. It shipped overseas on August 6, 1944.
As part of General George Patton's United States Third Army, the 94th Infantry Division ("94th ID") was known as "Patton's Golden Nugget". It fought in the Campaigns of Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes-Alsace and Central Europe and spent 209 days in combat.
Bill would rise to the rank Major in the 94th Infantry Division.
After the war, Professionally, Bill worked as an Investment Banker. Bill and Peggy were world travelers. They traveled to every continent but Antarctica, and took voluminous pictures. He was an avid golfer. When he was not on the golf course, he was practicing his short game on the front lawn.
William M. Cahn Jr., a resident of Purchase, NY died Tuesday October 16, 2001 at the age of 90.
At the time of his death, he was survived by his wife Margaret Millhauser Cahn, his son William M. Cahn III, five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Two sons, Stephen M. and Peter A. Cahn, predeceased him.
