Robert A. Warner was born in New York in 1919. In Rye his family lived on Hillcrest Lane and were members of the Presbyterian Church. Robert served as an officer in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.

Mr. Warner was separted from the Army August 8, 1946, as Captain, Army Air Corps, after five years service. He began as a private in Squadron A, continuing with the 5th Air Corps in the Pacific and the 8th Air Corps in the European Theatre of Operations. He holds a Reserve Commission and for his wartime record received the D. F. C. , Air Medal, 2 clusters; E. T. O. , three stars;Asiatic Pacific Ribbon, one star; Presidential Citation, two clusters.
