Daniel B. McAfee
Daniel Bosworth McAfee was born on July 20, 1919, in New York City, New York, to Geraldine Martina Bosworth, age 31, and Daniel Shields McAfee, age 31. He had one older sister, Marcia.
Locally, his family lived on Griswold Rd, Harrison and were members of Christ's Church. Daniel graduated from Lehigh University, where he was a member of Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity.
He served as an 1st Lieutenant in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.
After his discharge, he spent most of his business career as a Vice President of Teledyne Packaging in Chester, Pa. He retired in 1985 and moved to Salem, SC and was a member of Keowee Key Golf Club.
He was a member of Fort Hill Presbyterian Church in Clemson, a volunteer for Meals on Wheels in Oconee County for seven years, and ER Volunteer in Oconee Memorial Hospital.
Daniel Bosworth McAfee died on December 19, 1999, at his home in Salem, South Carolina, at the age of 80, and was buried in Clemson, South Carolina.
At the time of his death, he was survived by his wife, Elizabeth R. (Betty) McAfee; and two children from a previous marriage, James R. McAfee of Warren, Vt., and Sally A. McAfee of Woodstock, N.Y.
A memorial service was be held on Tuesday, Dec. 28, 1999, at 11 a.m. at Fort Hill Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. James Richardson officiating.
