Harold Daniel Burlone was born on August 7, 1934 to his parents Harry Burlone and Violet Burlone at 46 High Street. His family includes his siblings, sister Theresa and a brother. During his Rye High School career Harold who was nicknamed "Red." played an active role in the school community and participated in numerous activities including, football, track, baseball, chorus (tenor), and in school musicals. His success in sports can be noted from his awards in track and baseball celebrated at sports awards dinners, as well as through his participation in the Varsity Football Club where he played Fullback and was co-captain of the team. Aside from sports, Harold participated in the arts, from theater to music. His theater career consists of working on "Red Mill" (1949), "Here We Come" (1951), "Love Rides the Rails" as part of the stage crew (1953), "There is a Song in My Heart," "Down in the Valley," "Gay Nineties Review." and "Brigadoon." In music he was a part of the Concert Band on the Musical Council. His other roles include his participation in the Leaders Club. After Rye High School, harold entered into the U.S. Army on October 8, 1954 at twenty years old. He served in the Headquarters Company, 21st Regiment, 24th Division.
