GEORGE BROWN, JR.
Funeral services were held today at Christ's Church for George Brown, Jr., 35, of 452 Milton Road, who died Monday morning after a long illness at the Kingsbridge Veteran's Hospital in the Bronx, where he had been a patient since Friday. Interment was in St. Stephens Cemetery, Armonk.
Mr. Brown was born in Port Chester, Oct. 2.S, 1934, son of George and Hazel Sweeney Brown of the home address. His father operates Brown's Trucking Co. in Rye. A bank clerk with the Bank of New York in New York City, he served with the Marine Corps in the Korean War. Attached to the First Marine Division, he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal before being discharged in 1955.
A 1952 graduate of Rye High School, he was a member of Christ's Church where he had at one time been a choir boy. He was a past commander of Rye Memorial Post 7550. Veterans of Foreign Wars. In additional to his parents, Mr. Brown is survived by his brother, Jack, of Rye.
