A Mass of Christian Burial for James Edward Ronan, 75, of Palm Coast, who passed away on Tuesday, June 10, 2008, will be offered today (Friday, June 13), 2008 at 10:30 a.m. at Santa Maria Catholic Church, 915 Central Avenue, Flagler Beach.
Mr. Ronan was born in Brooklyn, NY, on October 29, 1932 to Julian and Violet (Brady) Ronan. He grew up in Eastchester, NY. After serving in Korea as a tank commander with the rank of staff sergeant, he attended Fordham University and received an MBA from New York University. He spent his career in Wall Street as a security analyst and portfolio manager. He married Patricia Devanny on May 23, 1964. They moved from Rye NY to Palm Coast in 1995.
He leaves his wife, Patricia; son, Joseph of Palm Beach Gardens; and daughter, Catherine of White Plains, NY. He also leaves his sister, Marie Mark; and brothers, Richard (Josephine) and Robert; along with numerous nieces and nephews. Jim was an avid golfer and amateur painter with a love of and prodigious memory for opera, history and art.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, P.O. Box 1328, Flagler Beach, FL 32136 or to the Abbey of Regina Laudis, Bethlehem, CT 06751.
