Frank Lapetina Jr was born in New York on May 15, 1932 to Frank Lapetina, a landscape gardener born in Naples, Italy, and Annie Copeland Lapetina. He had 2 sisters, Margaret and Estelle, and 2 brothers, Nicholas and John. They all lived at 368 Midland Avenue in Rye, New York. He was a Rye High School graduate from the class of 1950. He was nicknamed "lap" and was Mr. Gordon's right hand man. Mr. Lapetina was involved in many school activities, such as basketball, intramurals, football and class committees. He was also an assistant to the Superintendent Charles Weeks and aided to combat vandalism. Frank Lapetina proudly served his country during the Korean War in the U.S. Navy in the destroyer USS Charles R. Ware, part of the U.S 6th fleet.
