Robert L. Kugel was born on August 4th, 1930 in Port Chester, NY. In Rye, he lived on 63 Halstead Avenue with his parents, Kenneth and Florence Mazzulli Kugel, brother, Richard Kugel, and grandfather, Louis Kugel. In 1951, Robert would marry Joan Taiano and they would raise two boys, Timothy and Christopher. He graduated from Port Chester High School Class of 1947 and Westchester Community College, but would later go on to graduate from Fordham University and get his PhD at Penn State on the G.I. bill. His interests include stamp collecting, bird watching, spy novels, his many pets, and travelling. Robert enlisted and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
