BIOGRAPHY
 
James Lockwood Wilson was born on March 18, 1915, in New York, his father, James, was 43 and his mother, Nan, was 35. He had three daughters with Renate John. He died on July 5, 2004, at the age of 89, and was buried in Stanton, New Jersey. In Rye his family lived on Hillside Rd.. James enlisted and served in the American Field Service during World War II.

James L. Wilson, age 89, of Richmond, Va., died of pneumonia and complications from Alzheimer's disease on July 5, 2004.

Born in New York City and reared in Westchester County in Rye, N.Y., he graduated from Yale University in 1937.

After serving as a volunteer ambulance driver in North Africa with the British 8th Army, he married and had a family, as well as a lengthy career in sales. Upon retiring, he and his late wife, Renate J. Wilson, relocated to Raleigh, N.C. for approximately twenty years before relocating again to Richmond, Va. in 2002.

He is survived by his three daughters, Laurie W. Lee of Hillsborough, N.C., Robin Wilson of Richmond, Va., and Holly Wilson of Allentown, Pa.; and two granddaughters.

A memorial service will be held at the St. Andrews United Methodist Church, 9801 Fort King Road, Richmond, on Saturday, July 17, 2004 at 1 p.m. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Association in lieu of flowers.
