Allan Edward Macnicol Jr. was born on April 8, 1930. Before he was at the age of one, his family moved from Florida to New York on the ship Munargo. He lived on 9 Hill Street in Rye. He lived with his father (Allan), mother (Ann), and older sister by 4 years (Katherine). Allan's father worked as a Marine Superintendent and his mother as a teacher at a private school. Allan attended Rye High School and graduated in 1948 after a very active time at Rye. In 1947 Allan was his junior class president and in 1948 he was the senior class treasurer. He also participated in sports such as football and tennis. During the Korean War, Allan proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force.
